Reconstruction of Amirault Street

Map showing the limits of the construction zone

Major construction work will take place from April to November 2026 on Amirault Street, in the area of J.F. Bourgeois Street through to the Amirault/Dover intersection. The work will include:

  • replacement of water mains;
  • repairs to storm and sanitary sewers;
  • replacement of the sidewalk with a multi-use path;
  • replacement of concrete curbs;
  • resurfacing of the roadway.

What to Expect

For the entire duration of the work, Amirault Street, between Freda Street and J.F. Bourgeois Street, will be reduced to a single lane and traffic will be significantly slowed. We recommend allowing extra travel time and using an alternate route where possible.

During the Project

  • The nature of the work may require us to encroach on certain properties. The project contractor is responsible for repairing any property damage and restoring the construction site. Photos will be taken before construction begins to document the condition of the site. We want to assure you that any damaged property will be restored to good condition.
  • Property owners with special needs are asked to share their concerns with the on-site project inspector, Megan Kent, at 506.875.8771, as early as possible in order to minimize inconvenience.
  • Once work begins, heavy equipment will be required to carry out the work. Noise and vibration are to be expected.
  • We are committed to keeping the construction site clean and safe, and we will make every effort to minimize disruption. However, dust and noise are unavoidable elements of construction projects.

How You Can Help

  • Stay clear of the work zone for your safety and the safety of the workers.
  • Drive carefully in the area and pay close attention to workers' directions and road signs.
