DIEPPE (N.-B.) — En juin 2023, la Ville de Dieppe adoptait son tout premier arrêté sur les arbres, une réglementation innovante et unique en son genre au Canada atlantique. Lors de la réunion publique des comités permanents et externes tenue le 20 janvier dernier, le service de l’environnement a présenté un bilan positif des résultats.
Dieppe City Council adopted its $101.3-million operating budgets for 2025 at its public meeting on November 25. Of that amount, $85.3 million will go to the general operating budget and $16.0 million to the water and sewer budget.
The City of Dieppe wishes to advise residents that a water main break occurred on Dover Road and Amirault Street and crews are currently on site repairing the water main in question.
Dieppe is proud to announce the launch of its very own municipal emergency alert system. Whether it’s for a water main break leading to a boil-water advisory, an evacuation, a serious weather event, a road closure due to flooding or some other issue, the system aims to keep residents informed and up to date.
The City of Dieppe, in cooperation with Les Ami.e.s de la nature du sud-est du N.-B., has created a milkweed garden to provide a feeding and breeding ground for the monarch butterfly. At the caterpillar stage, the monarch feeds exclusively on milkweed, a native perennial plant.
With the help of experts in the field, the City developed its very first Housing Strategy. The strategy identifies specific actions the City can take to address its housing challenges. It focuses on a manageable number of measures that can have a significant impact in relation to the resources they require, taking into account the responsibilities and limitations of municipal governments.
Free public transit for children 11 and under in Dieppe now includes Moncton and Riverview. Thanks to a partnership with Codiac Transpo, holders of the free youth pass for children 11 and under will now be able to travel by bus throughout the region.
The City of Dieppe is pleased to announce that the long-awaited extension of Dieppe Boulevard will begin in 2024. The main aim of the project is to improve road connectivity by providing a second option for accessing key areas of the city.
The City of Dieppe launched a contest in October to name five of its snowplows. Residents responded in large numbers, making the selection committee’s task difficult.
The City of Dieppe continues on its robust growth trajectory by setting a new record for construction in 2023. Over 500 permits have been issued since the beginning of the year, representing a total investment of almost $150 million.
