Doiron House Gets into the Halloween Spirit
DIEPPE, NB — The City of Dieppe is launching its first-ever Haunted Doiron House from October 27 to 29. Visitors young and old are invited, with admission at $5 per person and free for children 12 and under.
This Halloween, Dieppe families are asked to put their courage to the test. Doiron House, built in 1841 by Joseph Doiron, will be transformed to make way for ghosts and a scary journey back in time. The heritage home is famous for being the only one in Acadia to have kept its original masonry hearth.
“With the Haunted Doiron House, we want to offer Dieppe families a chance to explore our history while celebrating Halloween,” says Jérémie Robichaud, community officer with the City. “For us, it’s a way of showcasing this important historic site.”
To allow participants of all ages to enjoy the experience, a family option will be available in the afternoon. Evening visits are for individuals 13 and over.
Parking will be available in Rotary St-Anselme Park, where a “spooky” trail will lead to the haunted house. Iconic Halloween films will also be shown on Sunday in the Brunch Room of the Rotary Pavilion, and popcorn will be served.
