Dieppe Challenges Residents to Explore New Forms of Exercise in 2024

Looking to discover a new physical activity to start the year off on the right foot? The City of Dieppe is pleased to offer eight free fitness sessions over the winter, running from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at École Amirault, located at 401 Melanson Road.

January 24: Pound Fitness

Facilitated by Lisa LeBlanc, this cardio jam session is designed to unleash your inner rock star while promoting total-body fitness. Open to participants 16 and over. Bring your indoor runners, a yoga mat and a water bottle.

January 31: Kung Fu (introduction to Wing Chun)

Kung Fu is a form of martial arts that combines spiritual exercise, self-discipline and personal combat. The session will be led by Laurent Olivier. Open to participants 12 and over. You’ll need indoor runners and a water bottle.

February 14: Yoga

Unite your breath and body with Danika Doucet. The session will feature a variety of poses accessible to all levels. Open to participants 12 and over. You’ll need indoor runners, a yoga mat and a water bottle.

February 21: Kinfit 50

Explore this low-impact, low-to-medium intensity program with Lucille Wilson. The session is open to everyone but is geared to people aged 50 and over. Don’t forget your indoor runners and a water bottle. You can also bring your own yoga mat if you have one.

March 13: Line dancing

Learn and build several line dance routines in this one-hour session led by Bertha Arsenault. All are welcome. Bring your indoor runners and a water bottle.

March 27: HIIT

HIIT is a type of interval training exercise. It incorporates numerous series of high-intensity movements that alternate over several minutes. Participants must be 12 or over. The session will be led by Annie Martel. Bring your indoor runners and a water bottle. You can also bring your own yoga mat if you have one.

April 3: Kinfit 50

Explore this low-impact, low-to-medium intensity program with Lucille Wilson. The session is open to everyone but is geared to people aged 50 and over. Don’t forget your indoor runners and a water bottle. You can also bring your own yoga mat if you have one.

April 17: Pound Fitness

Facilitated by Geneviève Thibodeau, this jam session is a workout for the body and mind that combines yoga, Pilates, drumming, cardio and strength training. Open to participants 12 and over. Bring your indoor runners, a yoga mat and a water bottle.

No registration required. Please use door K to access the gym. Cancelled when schools are closed due to inclement weather.
